Mitchell Sedlock

Mitchell M. Sedlock, 83, of Lake Charles died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022 in a local hospice facility.

He was born and raised in Cameron where he graduated from Cameron High School. Upon graduation, he joined the US Army. After being honorably discharged, he began a career with Shell Oil, first working offshore for 16 years, and later working as a terminal manager at the Haymark Terminal. He was a commercial fisherman and he hand-made shrimp nets.

He was a member of Faithway Baptist Church where he taught youth Sunday school and later became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

He is survived by his children, Doug Sedlock (Missy) of Moss Bluff, Steven Sedlock, Mitchell Todd Sedlock (Lilly), Andre Kolb (Garrick), and Amanda Sedlock all of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Steve Sedlock; sons, Timothy Scott Sedlock and Jason Paul Sedlock; and a sister.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 5, at University Baptist Church. His grandson, Joey Sedlock officiated. Burial followed in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
