Mary “Coot” McInnis, 66, died on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.

“Coot” was a dispatcher for Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office for 27 years before retiring and moving on to be a security captain for Loftin Security for 14 years. She enjoyed making baby blankets for newborns for over 40 years.

She is survived by her children, Michelle Annette and Lucas Bowman McInnis; sisters, Jean Istre and Bobbie Fountain.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernie and Grace Welch; sister Patricia (Pat) Kershaw; and brother Robert “Bo” Welch.

Visitation with family will be Saturday, Feb. 19, from 8 until 10 a.m. with a Rosary at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church in Hackberry. Burial will be at Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Robison Funeral Home.
