A mighty vessel has sank, Malcolm Wayne Skipper passed away at the age of 75 on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at his home, with his wife Diane Skipper of 54 years by his side. By the time a man is 75, he’s had many phases in his life. He loved his family and reveled in their love for him. He had friends of all ages and styles. He was a man to whom truly no one was a stranger, a man who only needed a handshake to seal a deal. He could move mountains with a raised eyebrow or pointed finger. Malcolm and his wife Diane had four children together.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Matilda Ann Skipper; father, Malcolm Skipper; four sisters, Hilda, Wanda, Velma, and Shirley; nephew, Michael Skipper II, and son-in-law, Aaron LaSalle Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Skipper; children, Tammy Abshire (Bobby), Malcolm Skipper (Jessica), Telicia LaSalle, and Tanya Doxey (Jimmy); grandchildren, BJ Abshire (Shelby), Trevor Broussard, Santana Abshire (Harold), Trisha Dyson (Clarence), Jada Cole (BJ), Chace Doxey (Cassidi), Aaron LaSalle Jr., Brendon Doxey (Katelyn), Ariana Provost (Josh), Brilee Doxey (Gage), and Alaysha LaSalle; twin brother, Michael Skipper Sr., and 21 great-grandchildren. There was always room for one more at his table and in his home. Mostly, he loved his wife Diane Skipper.
Heartfelt gratitude to all his medical staff who provided kind care, and to Hospice, who helped us to be present for Malcolm’s last hours. Deep thanks to all the friends that became family.
