Roll Call: Present: Chris Mooney, Tammy Peshoff, Kathy Guthrie, and Fred Sanders
Absent: Cecil Clark III
Public Comments:
During Public Comment, Brent Morales of Coastal Cans addressed the board with questions of why Gulf Waste has different dumping requirements than Coastal cans. The Board explained that Gulf Waste does have the same requirements as Coastal Cans with the exception of their dump station having a filtering system, therefore, their waste is reduced to gray water only, with no need for a basket. The board explained that the pumps for Coastal Cans dumpsite were being repaired and the basket used there would only fit at that lift station, therefore, dumping at any of Cameron Parish Water & Wastewater #1 lift stations were ceased at the time. Dumping was also ceased due to Hurricane Laura. The lift stations were having to be pumped out by an outside source to maintain sewer availability for those customers that were already back, mainly Venture Global & Kiewit. Gulf Waste dumps at Liberty Dock because this facility/location is in agreement with Gulf Waste and the landowner. Gulf Waste owns the pumps at this lift station located at the Liberty Dock.
Requirements are:
-Dumping into a wastebasket before going into the district’s pump
-A manifest sheet is required by La. DEQ, and filled out on-site, for each dump, however, Gulf Waste uses more than one lift station and the book has to follow them wherever they dump. Once Gulf Waste is stationary at one location, the container box for the Manifest sheets will be installed.
-Dumping locations are at the discretion and approval of Cameron Parish Water & Wastewater #1
