Lisa Hunt

Our beloved Lisa broke her earthly bounds on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, in a cabin on the Little Mulberry creek in Arkansas. She will forever be remembered as a warrior for her courageous battle against Cancer with her husband and soulmate Barry by her side.

Lisa was born on Nov. 4, 1955, in Knoxville, Tenn. She is survived by her husband, Barry; brother, Don; and sisters Melanie and Valerie; her fur babies Lester Holt, Bella, Thelma Lou, and Wally Wally, as well as countless people who had the privilege of knowing her over the years.

Lisa and Barry made Johnson Bayou home for over 25 years. She served on the board of the Cameron Parish Library, was a member of the Cameron Lions Club and volunteered at the Johnson Bayou Bird Sanctuary. Lisa had a passion for helping people and animals. Her unspoken motto was “leave no animal” behind and she was a notorious “foster-failure.” If she couldn’t find a suitable adopter, her home became their forever home.

She was smart and talented. With her real estate license, Lisa managed Hunt Homes and was a constant force in the support of her community. Lisa had the best laugh and great sense of humor and loved being entertained by her husband. They enjoyed life together attending New Orleans Saints games, traveling, and just having fun together.

Our hearts are broken and there are no words to express how much she will be missed.
