Lions Club launches White Boot campaign

The Cameron Lions Club has launched a White Boot Campaign to support hurricane recovery for residents in the bayou parishes of St. Mary, Assumption, Terrebonne, Lafourche and Grand Isle.

“We know all too well the damaging and domino effects a storm like Hurricane Ida can have on communities long after landfall,” said Stephanie Rodrigue, President of the club. “But, we also know the tremendous impact that a ‘helping hand’ can provide when you’re down. We are so appreciative of all the people and organizations, including those from Southeast Louisiana, who helped us after Hurricanes Laura and Delta. We will be forever grateful. Now it’s our turn to give back and help our neighbors get back on their feet.”

Specially labeled white boots will be displayed at area businesses through Monday, Nov. 15 for donation contributions. Donations may also be made online at www.CameronLionsClub.com or mailed to Cameron Lions Club, P. O. Box 751, Cameron LA 70631. After the deadline date, club representatives will travel to Southeast Louisiana to deliver gift cards for residents.

If you’d like to participate in the White Boot Campaign by hosting a white boot at your business location, contact Patty Boudreaux at 337-342-9227 or Shelly Granger at 337-794-6729, and a boot will be delivered to your business.

Boot locations can be found on the Cameron Lions Club website and Facebook page.
