Leveque’s art on display in Grand Lake

Charles McNeely III, and Patricia Bordelon (Leveque) are announcing the development for a Dev/Doc Theatre video on the life and works of local artist and master craftsman, Kevin Lawrence Leveque (1946-2023).

McNeely was a long-time Director of Theater Arts at McNeese and met Bordelon at T-Boy’s Cajun Grill during the monthly gathering of the 3rd Thursday Meet & Greet luncheon on Aug. 15.

T-Boy’s owners, Angie and Ronald Nunez, display local artists’ work including Leveque’s “Henning House” selected as a cover for the Cameron Phone Book. The Henning Family was the founder of Cameron Parish’s first telephone service. Each year they commissioned an artist to paint a painting to grace the cover of their annual telephone book release. Subsequently, those artists’ prints such as Leveque’s “Henning House” were given to customers for many years as gifts.

Bordelon was happy to meet Ronald and Angie and plans to offer images of Leveque’s popular works to places of interest where local people gather. Leveque’s work celebrates the beauty and simplicity of SWLA landscapes and lifestyles.
