Commonwealth LNG (“Commonwealth”), announced Monday, Dec. 23, that energy industry veteran attorney David Lang is joining the company in the dual role of General Counsel and Chief Commercial Officer.
Lang has extensive experience in the LNG sector, most recently at King & Spalding as a Partner in the law firm’s Corporate practice. His role included advising clients in all phases of the natural gas value chain. He has negotiated LNG sales and related agreements, represented private equity firms in acquisitions of LNG assets and other energy infrastructure, and guided clients on project financing.
Prior to practicing law, he worked as a reservoir engineer.
“We’re extremely pleased to have David join our team,” said Commonwealth President and CEO Farhad Ahrabi. “His knowledge of our company and LNG experience overall are invaluable as we enter the new year finalizing commercial arrangements and all remaining legal processes to go forward with a final investment decision on our project. David has navigated similar challenges for others and will now be able to apply these skills directly as a member of an LNG owner organization.”
Lang holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and J.D. degree from The University of Texas School of Law.
Commonwealth, backed by alternative asset manager Kimmeridge, is in the advanced stages of developing a 9.5 million tonnes per annum LNG export facility in Cameron.
