Written comments will be received until 9:00 AM on Monday, August 3, 2026 at the Cameron Parish West Annex Office located at 148 Smith Circle, Cameron, LA  70631 or mailed to Cameron Parish Police Jury, P. O. Box 1280, Cameron, LA 70631, Attn: Mary Carroll, or via email to mcarroll@cameronpj.org. Oral comments will be received at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 10, 2026 in the Cameron Parish Police Jury Meeting Room during the regular Cameron Parish Police Jury Meeting.  Comments are based on the proposed changes to the Cameron Parish Ordinance listed below:

CHAPTER 20 – SPECIAL DISTRICTS; SECTION 20-453 – GOVERNING AUTHORITY (b)

CHANGE TO:

(b) The governing authority of Cameron Parish shall appoint a resident from each of the six wards who is a qualified elector of the parish and one member at large who is resident of the parish and who shall be nominated by the Sheriff of Cameron Parish. Each member shall serve at the pleasure of the governing authority of the parish.
