Cameron Parish Police Jury met in the West Annex Board Room at 148 Smith Circle in Cameron for their Voting Session on Monday, June 2, with all jurors present.
Meeting was called to order by Police Jurror President Ronald Nunez, Jr. The Pledge of
Allegiance/Prayer were conducted; there were no public comments.
Motions carried to Adopt May 2025 meeting minutes and approve Add-Ons.
Motions carried to Approve Other Permits below:
Chad Mudd, LLC – Creole, 5750 West Creole Highway, (proposed to repair breaches in existing spoil bank to restore and stabilize due to subsidence and storm damage for agriculture use. This will result in 560 cubic yards of excavation), Cameron Parish. (250601)
Exxon Mobil Corporation – Grand Chenier, Latitude 29°50’24.22”, Longitude 92°54’41.06”, (proposes to conduct an environmental assessment of select portions of the Miami Alternatives, LLC property located within Little Chenier, Lake Misere, and Pecan Lake Oil and Gas Fields), Cameron Parish. Fugro USA Land, Inc. – Cameron, Amoco and Davis Road, (proposes geotechnical soil borings, PL-2 and BOG-1, for potential pipeline HDD locations along the proposed pipeline route that may require HDD installation methodology. Soil classification and strength data is needed by design engineers to properly design the HDD installations for contractor specifications), Cameron Parish. (250603)

Motion carried to approve to open public hearing on proposed amendments to the Cameron Parish Code of Ordinances, Chapter 10 Article VII. Temporary Food Service Festivals and Fairs Temporary food service vendors can sell food or drink in a temporary location on Holly Beach, the Village of Cameron and the Industrial LNG Facilities provided:
Change (6) from: A limit of no more than 4 temporary food service permits in the Village of Cameron issued within one year, excluding vendors selling food products such as ice cream, frozen novelties, snow cones, etc.
Change to: A limit of no more than 5 temporary food service permits in the Village of Cameron issued within one year, and allow applicants 60 days to comply with permit. Excluding vendors selling food products such as ice cream, frozen novelties, snow cones, etc. There were no public comments. Motion carried to close hearing.

Motion carried to give authority to Parish Adminstration to sign and execute paperwork for Coastal Zone Litigation The Parish of Cameron v Anadarko E&P Inshore, LLC. et Al Docket No. 1019578
In the Roy Bailey Dispute concerning roadwork in Grand Lake district: District Attorney Tom Barrett proposed a settlement of $74,500 with Roy Bailey. He will come to jurors with details; motion carried to accept settlement.
Police Juror Danny Myers agreed to resigning his seat on the Jury contingient that Bridge and Road Foreman Superintendent Shane Manuel, who was represented by his counsel, Larry Roach, would continue his employment with the Parish accepting a demotion to road crew as well as receive a decrease in pay and suspension for two weeks. Motion carried with the majority of the jurors voting in favor of the proposal for Manuel’s reprimand and Juror Myers resignation.
Motion carried giving President authority to sign 3-year Cooperative Agreement with the State of Louisiana Department of Energy & Natural Resources for Cameron Parish Local Coastal Management Program Implementation (July 1, 2025- June 30, 2028), LaGov# 2000924630 (agenda addon).
Motion carrried to give Authority to advertise for RFQ’s to elevate and repair the Health Unit (agenda add-on) Consideration of adopting policy that a sitting juror cannot directly contract or be indirectly contracted for parish work (agenda add-on) was tabled for 30 days.
