In accordance with Governor’s Proclamation # JBE 2020-30, this meeting will be held by teleconferencing to reach a quorum. Public comment could be made in person or by calling 337-775-5421.
Board President Ernest Roberts called the remote meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Board Members present online were Ernest Roberts, Beth Ferguson, Peter Posada & Jaimie Boudreaux, Kathleen Simon & Thomas McDaniel. Jaimie led the pledge of allegiance and Beth led the prayer. There was no public comment.
Computer One was voted for Category 2 Erate funding at the last meeting but refused to work with Amerinet Consulting for other IT work. On the motion by Beth and seconded by Jaimie, and carried, the Library Board voted to accept Amerinet Consulting for all IT work and not use E-Rate Category 2 funding or Computer One for 2021 and to purchase new switches for branches. Roll call vote: Kathleen- aye, Beth-aye, Jaimie-aye, Thomas-aye, Peter-aye, Ernest-aye.
On the motion by Jaimie and seconded by Kathleen, and carried, the Library Board voted hire part time worker Dora Tucker. Roll call vote: Kathleen-aye, Beth-aye, Jaimie-aye, Thomas-aye, Peter-aye, Ernest-aye.
On the motion by Kathleen and seconded by Jaimie, and carried, the Library Board voted for to accept the purchase of the Thompson Property in Hackberry for a new library site provided it is in an AE zone for $101,400. Roll call vote: Kathleen-aye, Beth-aye, Jaimie-aye, Thomas-aye, Peter-aye, Ernest-aye.
No action was taken on moving meeting dates.
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Kathleen, and carried, the Library Board voted to accept the 2020 updated Libraries Southwest Reciprocal Agreement and grant permission for director Delia Sanders to sign the LSW agreement. Roll call vote: Kathleen-aye, Beth-aye, Jaimie-aye, Thomas-aye, Peter-aye, Ernest-aye.
On the motion by Beth and seconded by Peter, and carried, the Library Board voted to suspend library services, work a minimum of 2 people and follow what Cameron Parish Police Jury is doing for COVID-19. Roll call vote: Kathleen- aye, Beth-aye, Jaimie-aye, Thomas-aye, Peter-aye, Ernest-aye.
There being no further business and upon the motion of Thomas seconded by Beth, and carried, the board voted unanimously to adjourn at 6:27 p.m. Roll call vote: Kathleen-aye, Beth-aye, Jaimie-aye, Thomas-aye, Peter-aye, Ernest-aye.
