PROCEEDINGS
MAY 20, 2020
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Mike Welch, Mr. Brad Hinton
ABSENT: Mr. Mark Trahan
Employees present: Mr. Kelly Cloud, Mr. Glenn Welch, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle.
Guest: Mr. Curtis Fountain
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer. Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the minutes from the April 8, 2020 regular meeting were approved.
Curtis Fountain suggested the Superintendents start working four tens and five eights when on call on an alternating week schedule. Brad Hinton suggested both Superintendents work four tens and one be on call for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday alternating weekends. On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mike Welch and carried unanimously, both Superintendents will work four tens Monday through Thursday and alternate being on call weekends for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Monthly Superintendent updates were presented by Kelly Cloud and Glenn Welch. Kelly Cloud will update the handicap parking space with a new sign and paint. Glenn Welch will resume line flushing in June that was postponed due to COVID-19. C & L inspected the well site filters for medium loss and found the small amount of loss was within standard limits and a large improvement from the loss problem experienced last year.
The Financial Report for the month ending April 30, 2020 and updates were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, the Board elected to repair fire hydrants on Christy Ln.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford, opposed by Mike Welch, the Board elected to adopt the Cameron Parish Police Jury Overtime Policy Section 5.4D for employee compensation of an additional time and a half for working during a Declared Emergency period. The policy will also cover the previous COVID -19 emergency period from March 24th to May 14th.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, all bills were approved for payment. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
There being no further business, on motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford, and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
