The Cameron Parish Gravity Drainage District No. 7 board met for a regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at the Drainage District 7 office.
Members present: Robert Trahan, Russell Badon, Don Trahan, Rogerest Romero, Rodney Billiot
Employees: Marsha Trahan, Scotty Badon, Kristopher Trahan, Josh Trahan
Guests: Juror Sonny McGee
Meeting was called to order by Don Trahan
Prayer and Pledge led by Russell Badon
Public Comment – none
Rodney Billiot made a motion, seconded by Russell Badon and carried to approve February meeting minutes.
Scotty Badon gave an update of the South Hwy 82 drainage project.
It was suggested that the engineer be consulted to downgrade the Yellow Gate Road project plans due to high material costs. On a motion by Russell Badon, seconded by Rodney Billiot and carried, the board requested that the engineer attend the April meeting.
No motion was made regarding the request for the loan of District 7 equipment to the Police Jury.
On a motion by Robert Trahan, seconded by Rodney Billiot and carried, discussion of a new hire was removed from the table for discussion.
Needing more information, a motion was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Robert Trahan discussion of a new hire was tabled until the April meeting when more information is provided.
On a motion by Robert Trahan, seconded by Russell badon and carried the board approved invoices and payment of bills.
On a motion by Russell Badon, seconded by Rogerest Romero and carried, the board accepted the receipt of financial statement, budget to actual comparison and report of current investments.
Salinity readings were reported as fresh by Josh Trahan.
On a motion by Rogerest Romero, seconded by Russell Badon and approved by all, agenda item 8a was added to the agenda; meeting time change.
A motion was made by Russell Badon, seconded by Rogerest Romero and carried, the board meetings will be held at 6:00 p.m. until time change.
Russell Badon made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Rogerest Romero and carried.
