Minutes
The Cameron Parish Tourist Commission met in Regular Session on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Cameron Parish Library, located at 10200 Gulf Hwy. in Grand Lake. The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm with Chairman, Stephanie Rodrigue, presiding. The Prayer was led by Ms. Labove and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ms. Johnson.
Commissioners Present: Stephanie Rodrigue, Chairman; Carolyn Miller, Vice Chairman; Mary Johnson, Treasurer; Patty Boudreaux, Secretary, JoAnn Nunez and JoeAnn Labove.
Absent: Tunie Dunaway

Approval of Minutes: Upon motion by Ms. Labove, seconded by Ms. Johnson, and carried, the Minutes of March 30, 2023 and the Minutes of the Special Meeting held on April 13, 2023 were approved as presented.
Treasurer’s Report: Ms. Johnson presented the financial reports of March 2023. Upon motion by Ms. Boudreaux, seconded by Ms. Nunez, and carried, the financials were approved as presented, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part thereof.

Correspondence: N/A
Old Business:
Cameron Parish Evening with Legislators: Ms. Rodrigue and Ms. Boudreaux will be in attendance with tent, table, tablecloth and promotional items. Commissioner shirts with logos are complete and will be distributed subsequent to the meeting.
Tent: The tent is scheduled for delivery to Work Designs on Monday, May 1, 2023. The backdrop and skirt sides are delayed due to pending graphics.
TripChat: Ms. Rodrigue reported that the 15 points-of-interest are currently being loaded onto the App.
Promotional Items: Ms. Boudreaux reported that koozies, totes and sticky notepads were ordered. Specialty tumblers and frosted bags were received by Work Designs and will be picked up prior to the Cameron Parish event with Legislators. Ms. Boudreaux also reported that water will be ordered from Brown’s Grocery to be distributed with koozies at the Sandcastle Lessons to be held on June 10, 2023 during the Crab Festival in Holly Beach.
New Business: N/A
Reports from Members: Ms. Miller reported that approximately 100 registrants attended the Southwest Louisiana Master Naturalists Conference. Ms. Miller and Ms. Johnson prepared giveaways for the attendees which included totes, bucket hats and insect repellent. A meal was enjoyed by attendees, compliments of the Cameron Parish Tourist Commission.
Ms. Labove reported that a new Family Dollar & Dollar Tree combination establishment was being constructed in Hackberry.
The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Cameron Parish Library in Grand Lake, La.
Upon motion by Ms. Nunez, seconded by Ms. Labove, and carried, the meeting was adjourned at 2:55 pm.
