BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS
The Board of Commissioners of Lower Cameron Hospital Service District met in Regular Session Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 4:00 pm, at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s office, in Cameron, Louisiana. Members present were Chairman Stephanie Rodrigue, Vice-Chairman Mary Canik, Vickie Kiffe, Tredale Boudreaux and Shawn Bonsall. Guests in attendance were Cameron Parish District Attorney Tom Barrett, Cameron Parish Police Juror Scott Trahan, Cameron Parish Coroner Kevin Dupke, M.D., Hoffpauir Studio LLC/WHLC Architecture staff Matthew P. Caillouet, Joshua L. Hoffpauir, and Angelle Terry.
The meeting was called to order by Stephanie Rodrigue, Chairman. A quorum was determined. There were no public comments.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the agenda was unanimously approved.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Tredale Boudreaux, the Minutes of the April 2023 Regular Meeting were unanimously approved.
Cameron Parish Coroner Kevin M. Dupke. M.D. addressed the Board of Commissioners of the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District in opposition to rebuilding South Cameron Memorial Hospital and wanted his opinion on record.
Upon motion by Tredale Boudreaux, seconded by Mary Canik, the Board of Commissioners of the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District unanimously approved retaining Hoffpauir/WHLC Architecture to design and manage the demolition of destroyed structures, design permanent and temporary campuses of South Cameron Memorial Hospital and authorized the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Lower Cameron Hospital Services to sign applicable contracts, after review by Cameron Parish District Attorney Tom Barrett.
Upon motion by Mary Canik, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, Commissioners of the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District unanimously authorized the Chairman of the Board to sign a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the Cameron Parish Police Jury to repair and renovate the Cameron Parish Health Unit as a temporary campus of South Cameron Memorial Hospital, after review by Cameron Parish District Attorney Tom Barrett.
Upon motion by Tredale Boudreaux, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, the Financial Report was unanimously approved.
Upon motion by Shawn Bonsall, seconded by Vickie Kiffe, bills were unanimously approved to be paid.
It was noted that the next regular meeting was previously scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 4:00 pm at the Cameron Parish District Attorney’s Office, in Cameron, Louisiana.
There being no further business, upon motion by Tredale Boudreaux, seconded by Shawn Bonsall, the meeting was unanimously adjourned at 4:51 pm.
