James Terral “Duck” Esthay, 49, died on Wednesday, June 9, 2021.

He was born in Jennings.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Guidry Beard and step-father, Freddie Beard of Hackberry; three children, Haleigh Barbee of Walnut Cove, N.C., Nathan Berwick of Carlyss, Isabelle McGee of Lake Charles, and “favorite” child, Daisy Mae; two bonus children, Tanner McGee and Spencer Conner III; and four grandchildren; siblings, Monica Navarre, Earl Beard, Kevin Beard, Bryan Beard, and Melinda Sue Beard all of Hackberry.

He is preceded in death by his father, Timmy Esthay.

Funeral service was held Monday, June 14, at the New Hackberry Community Center. Pastor Monte Rowse led services. Interment followed in the Hackberry Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
