PROCEEDINGS
The Cameron Parish Waterworks District No. 10 met in regular session at the Waterworks office located at 6246 Gulf Beach Hwy. in Johnson Bayou on December 12, 2023, at 5:00p.m. Members present by roll call were Mark Young, Connie Trahan, Kent Carlson, Bobbie Trahan, and Nathan Griffith. Members absent were none. The guest attending was CPA Coy Vincent. Employees attending were Rhonda Morrison, Carl Trahan, and Aaron Jinks.
It was moved by Nathan Griffith to call the meeting to order.
The pledge was said by all present and the prayer was led by Nathan Griffith.
A Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comment was given.
It was moved by Kent Carlson, seconded by Connie Trahan and carried to accept November minutes as read.
CPA Coy Vincent presented the 2023 Budget revisions. It was moved by Connie Trahan to amend the 2023 budget as presented. No public comment was made. The motion was seconded by Bobbie Trahan and carried.
CPA Coy Vincent presented the 2024 projected Budget. It was moved by Mark Young to approve the 2024 projected budget as presented. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
The Sabine Pass LNG distribution line extension project was discussed. Cheniere cancelled the project and will run a service line within their property.
Updates were given on the development of the new property. DOTD and OCM/Corps joint permit applications have been submitted. K & M Project Services will continue to research means to prevent erosion on the east side of the property.
One Official Journal bid was received. It was moved by Bobbie Trahan to accept the 2024 Official Journal bid from The Cameron Pilot. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
It was moved by Mark Young to authorize the signature of President Nathan Griffith on the PFAS (Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) lawsuit. All DHH testing shows below the reporting limits. However, the lawsuit is protective in nature and may provide some support if PFAS is ever detected in the water system. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Kent Carlson and carried.
It was moved by Connie Trahan to authorize Aaron Jinks’ .50 an hour increase in pay for obtaining his Class 2 Treatment certification as per the certification policy. No public comment was given. The motion was seconded by Bobbie Trahan and carried.
It was moved by Mark Young, seconded by Connie Trahan, and carried to approve the bank statements and the Actual vs. Budget report for the month ending November 2023.
It was moved by Kent Carlson, seconded by Mark Young and carried to approve the bills as paid.
