OF CAMERON PARISH
December 20, 2023
Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Cameron Parish held a regular meeting at Grand Lake Water Works District #11 Office, 111 Dennis Lane, Bell City, Louisiana 70630, at 5:30 pm, on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Chairman Shane Broussard called the meeting to order.
Board members present for the meeting were Shane Broussard, Leslie Griffith, Todd Morales, and Yancy Welch. Board member Dan Nunez was absent.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Welch and carried, the minutes of the Wednesday November 15, 2023 meeting were approved.
Present for the Public Comment Period was Brian Arabie, Assistant District Attorney for Cameron Parish, Kara Bonsall, with Cameron Parish Police Jury, and Chad Courville with Miami Corporation, Mitch Thomas with K & M Project Services, LLC and Mr. Giz Guilbeau.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried the Board opted to no longer pursue a lateral on Miami Property known as Middle Marsh Lateral. The Middle Marsh Lateral Permit will be corrected to contain only North American Land property.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried the Board added to the agenda the Jeff Davis Electric permit regarding the poles being located in the Creole Canal.
On motion of Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried the Board opted to table the Jeff Davis Electric permit until the January, 2024 meeting.
On motion of Mr. Griffith seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board accepted the financial report of November 31, 2023.
On motion of Mr. Welch, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board approved the following bills for payment:
1. Jeff Davis Electric – $41.48 (Kings Bayou Structure)
2. Cameron Parish Police Jury – $1,168.83 (Liability Insurance)
3. Marshland Equipment – $1,000.00 (LaBove Bayou Clean-out)
On motion of Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Welch and carried, the Board approved the following permit:
LCUP #231207 – Cameron Parish Gravity Drainage District No. 4 – Location of Permit – Creole, Latitude 29 50 28.42 Longitude -92 59 55.09 (Maintenance of Little Chenier Canal; proposed maintenance dredging along 32,685 feet of drainage lateral to provide adequate drainage.)
There being no further business, on motion of Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Welch and carried, the meeting was declared adjourned.
