Hubert J. Timpa, 88, died on Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023. Hubert was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.

He served in the Louisiana National Guard and was honorably discharged from duty after serving for 12 years. For 47 years he worked as a Building Inspector for the City of Lake Charles.

He enjoyed the outdoors of SWLA and for many years was a fishing and hunting guide for Black Lake Lodge and Cameron Meadows Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruth Timpa; one brother; and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Perry Timpa; sons, Sammy Dwayne Timpa, Johnny Timpa, Michael Wendel and Carlis Faler; daughters, Lori Timpa Young and Susan Wendel Loupe; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

His memorial service was held Sunday, Aug. 20, in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles chapel. Pastor Dennis Dupuis officiated.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
