Hornets travel to Kinder for scrimmage

By Jake McCoy

The 2026 Grand Lake Hornets football team will travel to Kinder tomorrow to compete in scrimmage. Action against not one but two different teams as they battle against the Kinder Yellowjackets and the Westminster Christian Crusaders from Opelousas and what should be two really good preseason tests for the Hornets.

Grand Lake graduated a solid senior class a season ago. However, they still do return a good nucleus of talented players, including young and up-and-coming running back Zac Manuel and Law Faulk, new quarterback Bransyn Mudd takes over for J. J. LaBove who graduated after eight fantastic, senior campaign.

Defensively linebacker Caison Maynard returns for his junior season and Matthew Fitkin returns at safety.

We encourage the community to make the trip to Kinder and support the Hornets!
