Last weekend the Grand Lake Hornets honored their four senior baseball players starting on Friday night as they took on the Bell City Bruins. Unfortunately mother nature decided to halt the game in the fourth ending as heavy rainfall fell over northern Cameron parish forcing the game to be resumed the following morning. During that time period several GLHS baseball Dad’s limited a helping hand to the coaches and players as they spent a few hours prepping the field to resume the game the following morning as the Hornets and I only had to resume the current game with Bell City but they also had to play another game shortly after that was all rescheduled for Saturday against Starks. The Hornets resumed play against BCHS on Saturday morning in the fourth inning ultimately run ruling the Bruins in five innings 11-1 and then turned around to run rule the Starks Panthers in three innings 15-0.
The Hornets have one more game on the road at South Beauregard and then the playoffs will start as GLHS is expected to have a top 10 seed.
