Hornets crush Basile on homecoming

By Jake McCoy

It was a homecoming game to remember as the Grand Lake Hornets crushed their district rival Basile Bearcats 44-12 last Friday at the Hornets nest. The Hornets defense swarmed and suffocated Basile all night causing the Bearcats to make crucial mistakes including Wyatt Wilkerson’s strip sack scoop and score from 65 yards in the third quarter to mostly seal the win for Grand Lake. Hornets kicker Luke Wainwright made a career long field goal from 38 yards out in the second quarter which is the second longest in school history.

All together it was a total team win on offense, defense, and special teams!

Geaux Hornets!
