Cameron Parish Library is inviting the public to the Hackberry Library Ground Breaking Ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. Light refreshments will be served. RSVP by calling 337-598-5950 or by emailing dsanders@cameron.lib.la.us or alester@cameron.lib.la.us.

The Hackberry Branch has been through four hurricanes. The library had plans to build a new library in the future that would be more up to code and expanded to have a separate meeting room and more space. With the recent hurricanes, the library decided to push ahead toward their expanding plans. The construction of the new library has begun with hopes to be finished by the end of 2022.
