Grand Lake to play six Thursday games

By Jake McCoy

High school football is traditionally reserved for Friday nights but for many schools in the state of Louisiana they are forced to play some games on Thursday nights due to a shortage of game officials.

The Grand Lake Hornets are also a victim of Thursday night games. The Hornets will play nine regular season games but six of them will be under the Thursday night lights due to the game official shortage in Southwest Louisiana.

The LHSAA and LHSOA Lake Charles area association is constantly looking for officials and umpires, if you or someone you know may be interested in becoming an official or umpire, please apply with the LHSAA or LHSOA.

Remember that these games we enjoy cannot happen without game officials.
