The Grand Lake Elementary Teacher of the Year is Daisha Evans. She has been an educator for 21 years, all of that time being spent in Grand Lake. Mrs. Evans pours her time and energy into Grand Lake Elementary. Not only is she an outstanding teacher, but she will go above and beyond for all faculty, staff, and students. Her love, leadership, and dedication models Grand Lake Elementary’s school vision.

Evans, along with her husband, Chris, and children, Audrey, Olivia and Grayson reside in Lake Charles.

The Grand Lake Elementary Support Staff of the Year is Bonnie Berry. She has been a lifelong resident of Sweetlake with her husband Lynn and family. She enjoys spending time with her children, grandchildren, reading and baking.

Berry began her career at Grand Lake as a substitute in the early ‘90s and then transitioned to bookkeeper. She goes above and beyond daily, and is always willing to help Grand Lake Elementary in any way possible.

She has dedicated her skills and services to the students and staff at GLE. You will never catch her without a smile. GLE is honored and blessed to have her as a part of their school.
