Gary Broussard

Gary Lynn Broussard, 64, passed away unexpectedly in Beaumont, Texas on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024. Gary was born in Sulphur to Emile Nolan and Viola Marie Broussard on Oct. 4, 1959.

Gary Broussard found immense joy in crabbing and fishing. When Gary was out on the water, the cares of the world seemed to drift away with the tide. There was a calming rhythm to casting his line or setting traps for crabs. The thrill of feeling a tug on the line or the anticipation of a full crab trap brought an excitement that was hard to match. These activities weren’t just hobbies; they were a part of who he was – a truck driver by day and a fisherman at heart.

Gary’s love for family was a cornerstone of his life. He valued the connections he had and made a conscious effort to keep those bonds strong. Whether it was through frequent calls or visits, he ensured that distance didn’t weaken the ties that meant so much to him. His genuine care extended beyond family; Gary’s willingness to assist anyone in need was a defining trait. He believed in the power of support and lending a hand, making it a priority to aid those around him whenever possible. This dedication to both his loved ones and those seeking help illustrated his compassionate nature and the depth of his generosity.

Gary will be remembered as the most giving and loving father, pawpaw, and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Patricia Broussard; his three children, Krystal Thibodeaux (Cody), Gary “Bubba” Chaisson (Michelle), and Shawn Brown; his stepson, Bud Brown; his grandchildren, Bethany, Trent, Brailee, and Talen Thibodeaux, Briah and Colin Chaisson, Allan Brown, and Blake and Laken Boroughs; his great-grandson, Kannon Michael Leblanc (on the way); his siblings, Debbie Broussard (Wendell), Barbara East (Floyd), and Ernest Broussard (Betty).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Viola Broussard; brothers, Victor Broussard and Carl Broussard; and sister, Wilma Broussard Feliz.
