Food for Seniors to be distributed August18

Submitted by Tina Wolfe

On Thursday Aug. 18, the Food For Seniors Program will be available once again in Cameron Parish through the Cameron COA/CAA, after a two year hiatus due the Hurricanes Laura and Delta. You MUST be 60 years old or older and pre-registered to receive a box. You can call the Cameron COA/CAA at 337-905-6000 ext. 6 for Jean, for more information.

The boxes will be available for pickup for areas of Cameron, Creole, Grand Chenier, SweetLake, Grand Lake and Big Lake at the Grand Lake Faith Temple, located at 655 Hwy. 384 (between Boone’s/Quick Mart #2 and Dollar General).

For Hackberry, at the Old Hackberry Community Center; for Klondike/Lowry the area representative will be in contact for delivery. All boxes MUST be picked up that day, as we do NOT have storage for the boxes. If you cannot make it that day, have someone pick up the box for you.

If you would like to pre-register for September’s box, you may call 337-905-6000 ext. 6 for Jean, and bring your Driver’s License, SS Card, and Income to the Cameron COA/CAA Office, located at 965 Hwy. in Grand Lake.

If you are in Hackberry, you may bring your information to the Hackberry Representative on distribution day.

If you are pre-registered for the August box, a COA/CAA Representative will be in contact with you to remind you and provide a time frame for pickup.
