Food for Seniors distribution to be December 14

The Second Harvest of Greater Baton Rouge/New Orleans) that is distributed on the Food For Seniors to be available in Thursday, Dec. 14, from the Cameron COA/CAA.

Thursday before every third Friday of the month through the Cameron Council On Aging/Cameron Community Action Agency, and is a different program from the distribution of the Catholic Charities boxes that are from the Diocese of Lake Charles that are received in various parts of the parish. On Thursday Dec. 14, the Food For Seniors Program boxes will be available for pickup for areas of Cameron, Creole, Grand Chenier, Sweet Lake, Grand Lake, Big Lake at the Grand Lake Faith Temple, located at 655 Hwy. 384 (between Boone’s/Quick Mart #2 and Dollar General) from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; for Cameron, Creole, Grand Chenier (that haven’t picked up in Grand Lake) at the Creole Fire Station located at 184 E Creole Hwy from 1-2 p.m.; for Hackberry at the Old Hackberry Community Center from 9:30-11:30 a.m.; for Johnson-Holly Beach at the Johnson Bayou Recreation Center from 1:30-2:30 p.m.; for Klondike-Lowry the area rep will be in contact for delivery. All boxes must be picked up the day of distribution, since we have help that day and do not have extra storage for the boxes. If you cannot make it that day, please have someone pick up the box for you. After two consecutive months of non-pick up, you will be taken off of the order list. You will then have to pre-register again to receive the box.

If you would like to pre-register for the Food For Seniors Program starting with December’s box, you may call 337-598-5158 for Jean, and if qualified bring your Driver’s License, SS Card, and Income to the Cameron COA/CAA Office located at 965 Hwy in Grand Lake (by the Grand Lake Water tower). If you are in Hackberry or Hollybeach – Johnson Bayou, you may bring your information to the Hackberry Rep. on distribution day. If you are pre-registered for the December box, a COA/CAA Rep will be in contact with you for a friendly reminder of the day/time frame for pickup. If you are registered and have not received a call from the Cameron COA/CAA Rep before distribution day, please contact us to make sure you are on the list for pickup.
