Ferry services resumes in Cameron

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces an alternate ferry, St. Francisville, has resumed ferry service in Cameron. The vessel will remain in service until the repairs for the Acadia are complete. To best serve the state’s traveling public as a whole, DOTD moved the second Plaquemine Ferry to Cameron Parish while the M/V Acadia under goes repairs.

While the St. Francisville is in service, any vehicle combinations longer than 50 feet will be required to detour and may use I-10. The boat launch on the west side of the Calcasieu River, adjacent to the ferry landing, will be closed to ensure safety while the Ferry is in service.

Motorists are encouraged to visit MyDOTD at http://www.dotd.la.gov to view and receive scheduled closures and press release notices via email. Call 511 or visit http://www.511la.org for additional information. Out-of-state travelers may call 1-800-ROAD-511 (1-800-762-3511).
