January 17, 2024
Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Cameron Parish held a regular meeting at Grand Lake Water Works District #11 Office, 111 Dennis Lane, Bell City, Louisiana 70630, at 5:30 pm, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.
Chairman Shane Broussard called the meeting to order.
Board members present for the meeting were Shane Broussard, Leslie Griffith, and Todd Morales. Board members Dan Nunez and Yancy Welch were absent.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the minutes of the Wednesday December 20, 2023, meeting were approved.
Present for the Public Comment Period was Mitch Thomas with K & M Project Services, LLC and Bryon Richard and Beau Tate with Royal Engineering.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried the Board tabled the right of way permit associated with Jeff Davis Electric until February meeting to get a better understanding of where LA DOTD stands on the erosion concerns along the Creole Canal.
On motion of Mr. Griffith, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board agreed to keep Board Members as they are. Chairman, Shane Broussard; Co-Chairman, Dan Nunez; and Secretary/Treasurer, Leslie Griffith.
On motion of Mr. Griffith seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board accepted the financial report of December 31, 2023.
On motion of Mr. Griffith seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board agreed to transfer $50,000.00 to the LAMP Investment account.
On motion of Mr. Morales seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried, the Board approved the Proposed 2024 Budget.
On motion of Mr. Welch, seconded by Mr. Morales and carried, the Board approved the following bills for payment:
1. Jeff Davis Electric – $71.81
2. Cameron Pilot – $78.00
3. K&M Project Services, LLC – $10,511.25
On motion of Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried, the Board approved the following permit:
LCUP #240104 – Cameron Parish Gravity Drainage District No. 4 – Location of Permit – Grand Chenier (Maintenance of Lateral “N”; proposed maintenance dredging along 23,565 linear feet of drainage lateral to provide adequate drainage.)
There being no further business, on a motion from Mr. Morales, seconded by Mr. Griffith and carried, the meeting was declared adjourned.
