POLICE JURY
BUDGET MEETING
NOVEMBER 10, 2022
The Cameron Parish Police Jury met in regular session on Thursday November 10, 2022 in the Cameron Parish West Annex Board Room in the Village of Cameron, Louisiana at 12:30 o’clock p.m. for the review of the 2022 Budget and to hear budget request. The following members were present: Mr. Curtis Fountain, Mr. Joe Dupont, Mr. Thomas McDaniel, Mr. Scott Trahan, Mr. McKinley Guidry, Mr. Lawrence Faulk, Mr. Magnus McGee and Mr. Kirk Quinn. No member was absent.
Kayla Johnson, Treasurer, reviewed the 2022 Budget with the jury and answered any questions concerning the report.
Mr. Fountain, President opened the floor for budget request.
It was moved by Mr. Faulk, seconded by Mr. Quinn, and carried the board hereby approves the allocation of $1,000,000.00 (One million dollars and 00/100) to fund a recreation complex in Grand Lake. With the stipulation that the community must pass a higher maintenance tax to cover the new building and if the tax fails the money will return to the general fund, or if there is an emergency need of the parish the money will be returned to the general fund.
It was moved by Mr. McDaniel, seconded by Mr. Trahan, and carried, the board hereby approves to allocates funds in the amount not to exceed $105,000.00 plus permitting fees (One hundred five thousand and 00/100) to cover the repairs and improvements to Gary’s Landing.
It was moved by Mr. Trahan, seconded by Mr. Dupont, and carried, the board hereby grants authority to advertise to repair the Cameron Jail due to damage sustained from Hurricanes Laura and/or Delta.
It was moved by Mr. McGee, seconded by Mr. Guidry, and carried, the board hereby grants authority to advertise to repair the Cameron Courthouse due to damage sustained from Hurricanes Laura and/or Delta.
With no other discussion or action needed, the budget meeting was adjourned.
