Eva Guidry

Eva Benoit Phillips Guidry, 79, of DeRidder died Wednesday, Mar. 3, 2021 in her residence.

She was born in Lake Charles and attended Marion High School. From 1974-1984 she worked as a rural mail carrier. She was a longtime member of Topsy Baptist Church. She was part of the Beauregard Council on Aging Quilting Group.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Johnson and husband Louis of Dayton, Texas, James Phillips and wife Janet of Lake Charles, Dena Henry and husband Robert of Lake Charles, Renee Dupre and husband Glen of Sweetlake, and Nickie Duhon and husband Dane of DeRidder, brother, Edward Benoit of Slidell; sisters, “Boots” Derby of DeRidder and Annie Velasco of Riverside, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Larry Phillips; husband of over thirty years, Noush Joseph Guidry; parents, Theo and Shirley Garrett Benoit; one sister; and a grandson, Jonathan O’Brien.

Her funeral service was held Monday, Mar. 8, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. Lloyd Carroll officiated. Private burial was at Benoit Cemetery.
