Eddie Conner

Our Dad and Popee passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. Eddie Joe was the eldest living heir to the Donat Miller and Mark Conner families of Creole.

He was born to Ona (Tateen) and Eddie (Noon) Conner of Creole.

Eddie Joe is survived by his brother, Charles Larry Conner of Grand Chenier; his children, Courtney Conner Morrish and husband Christopher Morrish of Lake Charles, Zackary Mark Conner and husband John Kight of Baton Rouge; and two grandchildren, Maddox Blade Morrish, Maggie Blaire Morrish of whom he was extremely proud. He was honored many times by parents requesting he be named as a Padan for their children.

Eddie Joe graduated from South Cameron High School and McNeese State University. While in the U. S. Navy, he toured Asia and was also stationed in San Diego Calif.

His professional background consisted of banking, insurance, and real estate.

Eddie Joe served and presided over many civic and fraternal organizations in Cameron and Lake Charles. The closest to his heart was serving on the Board of Abrahams Tent. He saw an opportunity to be able to assist in furnishing two of the three basic human needs, food, and clothing.

Eddie Joe lived his life by the mantra “Don’t Forget to Smile and Always be Kind” which he reminded his grandchildren of every morning prior to starting their day.

He asked that you consider donations to Abraham’s Tent or any other organizations furnishing food, shelter, or clothing for the needy.
