Council on Aging plans short, fun trips

By Dinah Landry

Over the next three weeks, the Cameron Council On Aging will be hosting a variety of trips. Short trips, but fun trips.

On Thursday, Dec. 7, we will leave the COA office in Grand Lake at 4:30 p.m. to head to Walk On’s in Lake Charles. Following supper, the group will tour Christmas lights in Lake Charles. If you would like to go please call 337-905-6000 and let Tina know. She will sign you up and if you need, she will send someone out to pick you up that afternoon.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13, we will head to DeQuincy to visit the Cameron Pilot folks, Nichols Department Store and the Railroad Museum and Train. We will leave the office in Grand Lake at 9 a.m. and plan to return around 3 p.m. If you would like to travel on this adventure with us, call Dinah at 337-532-3030 and we will set you up.

Caroling will take place at the Grand Lake Elderly Apartments on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. The House of Worship will be there with singing and hot chocolate for you to enjoy!

Friday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m. is the Klondike Bingo at the Community Center in Klondike and Tuesday, Dec. 19, Lowery will have their bingo at 10 a.m. A special surprise will be handed out in each area!

Special birthday wishes for those of you who were born in December! We do wish you a Happy Birthday from all the staff at the COA and Community Action. For those who ride the Public Transit system, please schedule your doctor’s appointments early in the month. It will be harder to get appointments later on.
