Charlie Mae Brasseaux, 91, died Saturday, Aug. 19, 2023.

She was born in Grand Chenier. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Grand Chenier, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, and the Grand Chenier Home Demonstration Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Joseph Brasseaux; her parents, Lionel and Emma Theriot; one brother, Walter “T-Boy”; and two sisters.

She is survived by daughter, Charlotte Trosclair; son, Dallas “DL” Brasseaux and daughter, Mona Kelley; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic on Friday, Aug. 25, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jom Joseph, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Sweetlake Grand Lake Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.

Visitation will be at Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Thursday from 4 until 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. and will resume Friday in the funeral home from 8 until 9:30 a.m.
