Charles “Chuck” Atherton Jr., age 55, of Sulphur died on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Sulphur. He was a lifelong resident of Sulphur and was a 1986 graduate of Sulphur High School. He and his wife founded their business, “Custom Dirt Work” over 20 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Trosclair Atherton; children, Jamie Nunez (Daniel) of Grand Lake, Charles “Lil Chuck” Atherton III, Kyle Atherton (Amber Johnson), and Hailey Atherton all of Sulphur; two grandchildren; father, Charles H. Atherton Sr. of Sulphur; brothers, Mickey, Chris, Will, and Randy Atherton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynda Atherton.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 2, at Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Dwayne Hyatt officiated. Burial followed at Mimosa Pines North Cemetery in Sulphur.
