Carol Trahan, former Juror, dies

(Editor’s Note–Carol Trahan, former Police Juror, Drainage board and Cameron Port board member, passed away Saturday, Aug. 1 at the age of 75.)

Ernest Carol Trahan, 75, of Cameron died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, Texas. He was born on Nov. 16, 1944, to Agnes Verna LaBove and Ernest Oliver Trahan, in Johnson Bayou.
Carol was a lifelong resident of Johnson Bayou. Upon graduation from Johnson Bayou High School he served as an X-ray technician in the US Army. He retired from Exxon Mobil Oil Company as an Electrician. He held office as Police Juror from 1980 to 1991; Drainage Board 2004 to present; and Cameron Port Board from 2010 to present. Carol was an avid rancher and loved raising cattle.

Survivors include his children, Shannon Trahan and his wife, Michelle, of Devers, Texas and Bobbie Trahan of Johnson Bayou; sister, Jacqueline Jordan and her husband, Jerry A., of Fannett, Texas; grandchildren, Wyatt Garrard, Gaige Trahan, Kohner Trahan; and Caleb Tripp; niece, D’Lisa Mitchell; nephew, Jerry A. Jordan, Jr.; and companion, Diane Armentor of Creole.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis Trahan; and brother-in-law, Karl Stelly.

A family graveside service will be held at Head of the Hollow Cemetery, Johnson Bayou under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas.
