Cameron Parish Junior Leaders hold third meeting

By Ariana Castillo, Reporter

The Cameron Parish Junior Leaders held their third meeting of the year on Monday, Nov. 7. President Kaden Jackson of Grand Lake High School led the meeting.

They began with discussions regarding their first fundraiser of the year, Charleston Wrap. Next, they continued to discuss upcoming community service projects that the junior leaders will be participating in. Secretary Julie Boenig led everyone in an icebreaker game of “would you rather”.

Louisiana State 4-H President Morgan Meaux gave a presentation on the state 4-H Executive Board. She explained the requirements to be on the board, and showed the Junior Leaders different opportunities they could participate in. Christmas shoeboxes were prepped and wrapped to distribute to the senior citizens in the community.

The meeting ended with the members participating in a team building activity where small groups raced to build the tallest tower made with mini marshmallows and uncooked spaghetti.

Cameron Parish Junior Leaders will hold their next meeting on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. The deadline to sign up for this year has passed.
