Brown receives CSE scholarship

CSE Federal Credit Union recognized four recent high school graduates with scholarship awards during the credit union’s virtual 78th Annual Meeting on May 5. Ceyanna Brown received $1,000 toward her continued education at a college or vocational school program of their choice.

Brown graduated from South Cameron High School. She was actively involved with 4-H, Jr. Leaders, FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, BETA and National Honor Society. Her interests include, reading, crochet, and showing her rabbits, miniature cows and poultry. She will attend McNeese State University this fall, where she will major in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. After McNeese, Ceyanna plans on attending LSU’s veterinary program. Upon completion of her degree, she intends to open her own large animal clinic and travel to make farm calls so that she can serve Cameron and Calcasieu Parish communities.

CSE “Smart Future” Scholarship recipients are selected based on academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
