Brenda Katheleen Conner passed on peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 22, 2026. She was born in Houma to Hayes P. Picou, Sr and Velma Katheleen Rogers Picou.

Brenda was a longtime member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church. She loved attending daily Mass, singing in the church choir, doting on her children and grandchildren. Brenda also enjoyed having family gatherings, cooking for her family, canning the vegetables from her husband’s garden, and reading. She was proud to have five generations!

Brenda was preceded in death by a daughter, Saundra Lee Conner, her parents, and a brother, Ronnie Picou.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 64 years, John Conner; two daughters, Sheila Carriere and Donna Kay Quinn (Heath); grandchildren, Quinton Chaumont (Amanda), Duston Carriere (Alexis Sawyer), Brody Quinn, Chase LeBoeuf (Shaley), and Chandler LeBoeuf; her brother, Hayes Pete Picou, Jr. (Mary); sister, Suggie Benoit (Ronnie); sister-in-law, Sharon Picou; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation began at 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a Rosary at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial began at 1 p.m. with Monsignor James Gaddy officiating. Burial followed in Chenier Perdue Cemetery under the direction of J. E. Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles.
