Board of Commissioners Meeting
February 26, 2020
Meeting called to order at 4:45 p.m. by Chairperson, Mary D. Booth.
Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer were led by Mrs. Booth.
Board Roll call: Present – Mary Booth, Christine Mooney, Jo Ann Nunez, Melissa Kiffe.
Also present: Dr. Kevin Dupke
Mrs. Booth read the agenda aloud.
No amendments to the agenda were proposed.
Ms. Nunez motioned to approve the agenda with no amendments. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None opposed. Motion carried.
Ms. Nunez motioned to approve the minutes from the last meeting, November 20, 2019. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None opposed. Motion carried.
Dr. Kevin Dupke introduced himself as the Cameron Parish Coroner Elect and discussed some situations in which he and the ambulance district will be coordinating. He advised that he will draft a memorandum of understanding for the district to review.
Director, Byron Broussard presented the director’s report for November, December 2019 & January 2020 which included, call volume reports, payments received on accounts, expense reports, cash asset report, and tax revenues received. A balance sheet was presented and reviewed. Expense reports were reviewed and signed by each present member. An account adjustment report was presented and signed by the meeting chairperson.
Mr. Broussard also stated that the he will be transferring a large portion of the ad valorem tax revenue received into the LAMP accounts where the interest earned would be more lucrative as opposed to the checking accounts.
Mrs. Mooney motioned to approve and accept the director’s report. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None Opposed. Motion carried.
Mr. Broussard presented the bid results for the mobile home in Grand Chenier. The high bidder is Mike McCall, who submitted a bid for $6,000. He is in the process of making the sale final within the coming days.
The board discussed the sale of the mobile home and property 113 Mildred St. in Cameron. Ms. Nunez motioned to deem the property as surplus and no longer need by the district and to advertise for bids to sell the property at no lees than the appraised value of $90,000. Second by Ms. Mooney. None Opposed. Motion carried.
Mrs. Booth scheduled the next board meeting for April 15, 2020.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms.Nunez. None opposed. Meeting adjourned.
