Minutes of Proceedings of the South Cameron Fire Department met in regular session on March 28th, 2024.
The meeting was called to order at 5:41 pm by Tammy Peshoff
The pledge of Allegiance was led by Tammy Peshoff
Members Present were Tammy Peshoff, Kevin Vincent, Suzie Fawvor, and James Boudreaux
Members absent were Armand Richard VI
Guest Present were Fire Captain Marlon Benoit
There were no additions to the agenda and public comment.
The Financial Report was approved on a motion by James Boudreaux and Seconded by Kevin Vincent.
The Minutes from the previous meeting was approved on a motion by Susie Fawvor and seconded by James Boudreaux.
President Tammy Peshoff opened bids that were received for the purchase of a 2000 GPM Hale Pumper Fire Truck. Two Bids were received & opened.
The first Sealed Bid received was from Action Truck & Equipment in the amount of $185,000 and the second was Texas Fire Trucks in the amount of $311,000.
On a motion by Kevin Vincent & seconded by James Boudreaux to accept the lowest bid, awarded to Action Truck & Equipment in the amount of $185,000.
On a motion by James Boudreaux & seconded by Kevin Vincent, Fire Department administration was given the authority to send out the letter of acceptance.
On a motion by James Boudreaux & seconded by Kevin Vincent. Fire Department administration was given the authority to sign all necessary documents relevant to the purchase of the truck and to travel to acquire the new truck.
On a motion by James Boudreaux & seconded by Susie Fawvor, it was moved for President Tammy Peshoff to sign and certify fire administrators Tim Dupont, Logan Manuel, and Clarence Dyson as Internal Fire Instructors, Fire Officer I, Fire Public Safety Educator, and Fire Prevention Inspectors.
On a motion by Kevin Vincent & seconded by James Boudreaux it was moved for President Tammy Peshoff to sign and certify Captain Marlon Benoit (Creole) and Captain Catlyn Hendrix (Grand Chenier) as Fire Officers for the South Cameron Fire Department.
On a motion by Kevin Vincent & seconded by Susie Fawvor, it was moved to allow fire department administration the authority to solicit quotes for the spray foam insulation installation at the Creole Fire Station Truck Bays and accept the lowest quote received.
Chief Dupont gave his chief’s report.
A motion by James Boudreaux & seconded by Kevin Vincent to adjourn the meeting at 6:18 pm.
