The Cameron Parish School Board met at its regular meeting on this date and meeting was called to order at 4:30 pm, members in attendance were: Robin Morales, Sheila Miller, Christi Labove, Sharon Picou, Joseph Delcambre and Randall Faulk
Absent: Marsha Trahan and Telesha Bertrand
The prayer and the pledge were led by Mrs. Morales and Mr. Delcambre.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved the agenda.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board approved the minutes of the December 9, 2019 regular meeting, as prepared by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Delcambre, the Board approved payment of the bills, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received Financial Statement and Reports of Current Investments, as presented by Mrs. Michelle Trahan.
The Board received information on the monthly report on property income as prepared by Mr. Lee Bloch- Bloch, Briggs & Associates.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board received information and tabled taking action regarding Section 16-5-5 Grand Chenier, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mrs. Miller, the Board received information and accepted to amend the lease on Section 16-12-3 as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received reports on current construction bid activities, as presented by Mr. James Hoffpauir, Hoffpauir Project Management Team:
A: Projects to be bid- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
• None at this time
B: Projects out for bid/quotes- James Hoffpauir, Project Management
• None at this time
C: Approval of bid and quote awards- Superintendent
• None at this time
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board approved authorizing the Superintendent to advertise for new bids and accept low bids on currently advertised projects due to requisite number of advertising days and a need to move forward on projects, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received updates on current FEMA, CDBG and General Fund Construction, Repairs, and Renovations to permanent and temporary sites’ projects from Hoffpauir Architects, LLC, Cameron Parish School Board’s Project Management Firm, as presented by Hoffpauir Architects, LLC and Project Architects.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Delcambre, the Board approved revisions to Policy IDDFA Special Education Advisory Council, as presented by the Superintendent.
The Board received for review policies to align with the 2019 Louisiana Legislative Session, as presented by the Superintendent:
DFD Tax Bond Elections and Sales
GAEAA Sexual Harassment
GBN Dismissal of Employees
GBRL Holidays
On the motion of Mr. Delcambre, seconded by Mr. Faulk, the Board approved to table discussion of Construction Consultant for proposed new school facilities at Hackberry High School and not take necessary action till the February meeting, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Delcambre, the Board approved making the 13th check allocation payable in May of 2020, as presented by the Superintendent.

The Board received information of recipients of the STAR program for the month of December, as presented by the Superintendent.
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mr. Delcambre, the Board received the Superintendent’s Report as presented by the Superintendent:

Please accept this report regarding my efforts to meet the following Performance Objectives as outlined in Exhibit A of my employment contract:
1: Human Resource Management
a. Completed Fall Site Visit @ JBHS on 12/11
b. Completed Fall Site Visit @ GLHS on 12/10
c. Completed Fall Site Visit @ SCHS on 12/10
d. Completed Fall Site Visit @ HHS on 12/11
e. Completed fall self-evaluations on all central office personnel on 12/2
f. Randomly reviewed our employee time in/time out records for the months of November/December
2. District Operations and Financial Management
a. Participated in monthly Finance and Budget Taskforce meeting on 12/9
b. Attended HHS preconstruction meeting regarding Phase II of the ADA upgrades
c.Met with Jay Delafield, David Brossett, and Christi Labove on 12/17 to discuss HHS bond sales and timeline for new HHS construction
d. Met with GL board members on 12/3 to review and discuss the plans for proposed parking lot between the softball field and football field house.
. Met with Mr. Stevie Barnett and Mr. Donald Brinkman on 12/16 to discuss the pros and cons contracting a Construction Consultant for the new HHS project.
3. Student Growth and Achievement
a Monitored JPAMS to ensure students had correct amount of points prior to Christmas break; notified administrators of teachers not meeting requirements
b. Visited each school at least once a week to meet with administration regarding any issues and also visited various classrooms and teachers
c. Met with Dr. JoAnn Matthews, our network leader from the State Dept., on 12/12 to discuss the needs and concerns of Cameron Parish School System
4. Communication and Community Relations
a. Attended Cameron Parish Basketball Tournament @ GLHS on 12/21
b. Attended HHS Christmas Program on 12/19
c. Attended JBHS Christmas Program on 12/16
5. Organizational Leadership
a. Held staff meeting with Central Office personnel on 12/2
b. Met with Representative Bourriaque to discuss the possibility of VNG leasing the 3rd floor when Kiewit’s lease is complete
c. Attended SWLA Superintendent’s meeting at UL on 12/6
On the motion of Mrs. Miller, seconded by Mrs. Morales, the Board adjourned the regular school board meeting at 5:11 p.m.
