PROCEEDINGS
March 09, 2022
There was a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Water District No. 2 at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 09, 2022, at the Hackberry Waterworks office.
PRESENT: Mr. Michael Fewell, Mr. Mark Trahan, Mr. Donald Buford, Mr. Mike Welch, Mr. Brad Hinton.
Employees present: Mr. Glenn Welch, Mr. Dalton Nunez, and Mrs. Shaun Kyle.
The meeting was called to order by Board President Michael Fewell who also led the pledge and prayer.
Public Comment period was given on all agenda items. No comments were made.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Mark Trahan and carried unanimously, the minutes from the February 9, 2022 meeting was approved.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Brad Hinton and all remaining members voting YES, the Board reelected Michael Fewell as Board President, Mark Trahan as Vice President, and Donald Buford as Secretary/Treasurer.
On motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Donald Buford and carried unanimously, the Board elected to change Board Member meeting per diem to $100 in order to remain consistent with other boards in the community and the parish.
Monthly Operator updates were presented by Glenn Welch and Dalton Nunez. The Board requested the operators obtain parts and materials now to prepare for hurricane season.
On Motion of Brad Hinton, seconded by Mike Welch and carried unanimously, the Board elected to approve the quote from Suez for the ground storage tank repairs and clean out.
The Financial Report for the month ending February 28, 2022 and updates were presented by Shaun Kyle.
On motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, the Board elected to invest in 2 new CDs of $250,000 each for 24 months.
On motion of Donald Buford, seconded by Brad Hinton and carried unanimously, all bills were approved for payment.
Our next meeting will be Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
There being no further business, on motion of Mark Trahan, seconded by Brad Hinton, and carried unanimously, the meeting was declared adjourned.
