Friday, Oct. 9, the Cameron Parish Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team will be conducting training at the Cameron Parish Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This training will include team members training inside and outside the building and team members may be seen in full gear with weapons.

Please note: The weapons will be rendered safe prior to the training and will not be able to chamber or fire live rounds.

This notice is intended to notify the general public of the training and alleviate any potential concerns.

“Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation as we conduct this important training to ensure public safety,” wrote Shaley Gossett, CPSO Public Relations, in an email to the Cameron Pilot.
