CONSIDERATION OF 

ACTION REGARDING 

AD VALOREM TAX

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Police Jury of the Parish of Cameron, State of Louisiana will meet on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., in the Meeting Room, West Annex Building, 148 Smith Circle, Cameron, Louisiana, at which time there will be consideration of action regarding calling an election to authorize the levy and collection of an ad valorem tax for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining, operating, and supporting public infrastructure, services, and essential facilities of the Parish, including roads/bridges, courthouse, jail, health center, other public buildings, garbage collection and disposal services, with any excess over the budgeted expenditures therefore to be used for other lawful governmental purposes of the Parish, including coastal endurance and forced drainage, fire protection, recreation, water systems, and gravity drainage, said excess may be allocated and shared to support special service districts created by the Parish and existing for such purposes; said Tax also to be in lieu of Parish ad valorem taxes currently levied and dedicated to roads/bridges (6.61 mills), courthouse and jail (2.64 mills), and health center (1.32 mills), and conditioned upon the discontinued levy of Consolidated Garbage District No. One’s 7.86 mill tax.
