Hornets shutout Lake Arthur 5-0

Last Monday, Feb. 17, the Grand Lake Hornets hosted the Lake Arthur Tigers in non district action.

The Hornets collected 7 hits while pitchers Rylan Young and Kasen Quinn combined for 12 strikeouts in 7 innings of work to put the finishing touches on a 5-0 shutout victory.

Zac Manuel went 2-4, Tayte Picou went 1-3, Grayson Daigle went 1-2, Kasen Quinn went 1-2, Tyson Smith went 1-3 with an RBI, and Colton Maynard went 1-2 with 2 RBIs.

Hornets fall to Iowa 11-1

On Friday, Feb. 21, the Grand Lake Hornets traveled to Iowa to take on the Class 4A Yellowjackets.
The Hornets collected 4 hits.

Zac Manuel went 1-2, Law Faulk went 1-3, Wyatt Wilkerson went 1-3, and Kasen Quinn went 1-2.

Hornets come up short

On Saturday, Feb. 22, the Grand Lake Hornets traveled to Westlake to compete in the Westlake tournament against the Oakdale Warriors. Unfortunately errors plagued the Hornets which was the difference in the ball game.

Kaden Quinn went 1-4, Law Faulk went 1-4, Rylan Young went 1-3, Wyatt Wilkerson went 1-3 with an RBI, and Colton Maynard went 1-3 with an RBI.

Tarpons run rule Evans 16-2

Last Friday, Feb. 21, the South Cameron Tarpons baseball team began their 2025 season on the road with a big 16-2 run rule victory over the Evans Eagles.

No stats were available for this game but we hope to have them for upcoming games.

The Grand Lake High School baseball game vs. East Beau scheduled for Feb. 24, has been moved to Mar. 20, in Grand Lake at 5:30 p.m. due to playoffs for basketball.
