Shirley Ann Nunez, 80, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 at her home in Sweetlake. She was born on June 20, 1944 in Creole to Wilton J. Young and Annocide Primeaux Young.
Shirley lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family. She was known for her kindness and compassion. She spent much of her life serving her community as a volunteer, mentor, advocate, and small business owner. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing, crafting, and collecting. Tea sets were her favorite. Above all, her greatest joy was being “Maw Maw.”
