Board of Commissioners Meeting
November 20, 2019
Meeting called to order at 4:45 p.m. by Chairperson, Mary D. Booth.
Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer were led by Mrs. Booth.
Board Roll call: Present – Mary Booth, Christine Mooney, Jo Ann Nunez, Melissa Kiffe.
Also present: Davy Doxey
Mrs. Booth read the agenda aloud.
No amendments to the agenda were proposed.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to approve the agenda with no amendments. Second by Ms. Nunez. None opposed. Motion carried.
Ms. Nunez motioned to approve the minutes from the last meeting, September 20, 2019. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None opposed. Motion carried.
Director, Byron Broussard presented the director’s report for September, October 2019 which included, call volume reports, payments received on accounts, expense reports, cash asset report, and tax revenues received. A balance sheet was presented and reviewed. Expense reports were reviewed and signed by each present member. An account adjustment report was presented and signed by the meeting chairperson.
Mr. Broussard also presented a dividend check receive from LWCC worker’s compensation insurer for $34,125.12. This will help to offset over half of the premium of $53,799.00 paid for the year policy period Dec. 2018 thru Dec. 2019.
Ms. Nunez motioned to approve and accept the director’s report. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None Opposed. Motion carried.
The board discussed advertising for bids for the mobile homes, previously used for ambulance stations, in Grand Chenier and Cameron, and a surplus spare ambulance.
Ms. Mooney motioned to get a new appraisal for the lot and mobile home at 113 Mildred St. in Cameron. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None opposed. Motion carried.
Mrs. Kiffe motioned to deem the mobile home as surplus property to set the minimum bid for the Grand Chenier mobile home at $2500. and advertise for the sale of the same as required by La. Public bid law. Second by Ms. Nunez. None opposed. Motion carried.
Ms. Mooney motioned to deem the spare ambulance, an Excellence module on a Chevrolet C2500 chasis, surplus property and to advertise for bids to sell the same, with the option to reject any bids based on fair market value. Second by Mrs. Kiffe. None opposed. Motion carried.
Ms. Nunez motioned to adjourn the meeting. Second by Ms. Kiffe. None opposed. Meeting adjourned.
