Anthony Jinks

Anthony “ Tony” Jinks, 74, of Moss Bluff, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025 at a local hospice facility with his family at his side.

Tony was a native of the Lake Area, having lived and being very active many years in Hackberry before moving to Houston and retiring to the Moss Bluff Community. While living in Hackberry, he worked with the youth baseball to basketball. Tony was a true sports enthusiast, and particularly enjoyed playing golf. While not always popular, he supported “his” team the Dallas Cowboys through even the lean years! He retired from Lyondell as a Scheduler/Planner. Tony always provided well for his family and, despite being a jokester, loved them and their families beyond measure. He was always very positive and never met a stranger. Tony was of the Catholic Faith.

Preceding Tony in death were his parents, Vernon Wallace and Mary Lee (Billeaud) Jinks.

Those left to his memory are his beloved wife and best friend of 25 years, Karen Faye (Rozas) (Ellender) Jinks; five children, Jared (Mandy) Jinks, of Ragley, Dustin (Beth) Jinks, of Newnan, Ga., Kasey (Erin) Jinks, of Moss Bluff, Cody Ellender, of Duncan, Okla., Cayde Matthew Ellender (Linsey), of Brownsboro, Texas; grandchildren, Marissa Miller (Alex), Hunter Jinks, Stacia Jinks, Issabella Jinks, Halley Jinks, Kyrsten Colson, Allana Jinks, Alyssa Jinks, Michael Jinks, Matthew Ellender, Brady Ellender, Charlotte Ellender and Lillian Ellender; great-grandchildren, Tucker, Cooper, and Weston Miller; siblings, Norman (Virgina) Jinks and Leonard (Glenda) Jinks, both of Hackberry; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.

Visitation was held from 4 until 8 p.m., Friday, Jan, 31, at the chapel of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, with a rosary and reflection time observed at 6 p.m. The gathering of friends and family continued Saturday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. at the hall of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Hackberry, concluding with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Father John Welch served as celebrant.

A private family interment will be at a later a date.
